A Simple Destination Wedding at the Beach Villa in St. John, Virgin Islands
Leigh Crandall (34 and an editor) and Roberto Baibich’s (35 and a creative director) destination wedding mixed bright hues with minimal decor for a day focused on personal details. Jami Saunders Photography captured every moment as the day started with a first look and simple waterfront ceremony by the Beach Villa. The couple’s flower girl spread fuchsia petals down the aisle as some guests watched from white folding chairs. “We didn't need to add much in the way of decor, since the natural setting on the Villa's bay was so stunning,” Leigh says. Leigh and Roberto came down the aisle soon after. She wore a classic ivory wedding dress from L’Fay Bridal with a bright DIY bouquet, and he wore a gray J.Crew suit. After a friend presided over the ceremony and the couple exchanged vows, all were treated to a fun reception. Tiki torches surrounded the space as all enjoyed dinner, Key lime pie and a sweet wedding cake baked by Katilady Catering. The two-tier confection stood out with cascading purple orchids against its ivory frosting. The couple’s DJ, Adonis Morton, kept the party going with a mix of American and Brazilian tunes as Leigh's brother started a Conga line. Their celebration ended in the venue’s pool with a swimming after party. For future couples, Leigh shares: “We booked our wedding venue and guest accommodations through my aunt and uncle's company, Crandall on St. John. I definitely recommend villa rental if you have a group traveling to the island.”
