A yellow, navy blue and tan palette against the white stucco of this desert hideaway created a pop of vibrant color for this classic wedding. Jeff McGovney (53 and a wardrobe supervisor for “The Book of Mormon”) and Jason Scoggins (42 and a marketing director at JCPenney) had their ceremony and reception at La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, California, a historic venue in the middle of the desert where Jeff had proposed to Jason 14 months before. Guests entered through an archway with “La Casa” written at the top and took their seats at the ceremonial space on the lawn, where white pillars lined the aisle with arrangements of ivory hydrangeas mixed with yellow spider chrysanthemums and craspedia, created by Jensen's Foods. Identical arrangements were seen at the reception, which took place on the patio wedged between the venue’s buildings with Spanish architectural design, beautifully captured on camera by Ashley Durham Studios. Dining tables dressed in white tablecloths were set with navy napkins, and hydrangeas, chrysanthemums and craspedias were arranged in glass vases as centerpieces. As much as we loved the clean-cut ivory wedding cake with subtle accents of craspedia and succulents, we had our eyes on the cookie favors in the shape of New York, Texas and California -- symbolic of Brooklyn (Jeff's home), Dallas (Jason's home) and La Quinta. “While a destination wedding wasn't as simple as we had expected to pull off, in the end it was well worth it,” the couple says. “We were able to make our special day an event that was special for everyone in attendance.”

Jason and Jeff exchanged silver wedding rings designed by Tiffany & Co. at their wedding ceremony, which took place on the lawn at La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, California. This venue was symbolic to the couple because it is where Jeff proposed to Jason.
They sent out simple wedding invitations printed on navy blue and white stationery, which reflected the style and color palette of their classic wedding. The grooms wore vintage Swatch watches dating to 1984 on the wedding day, which Jason has a hobby of collecting.
Jason and Jeff wore navy blue Chuck Taylor All Stars tennis shoes by Converse, along with black and yellow polka-dot socks. Jason's sons matched the grooms with wearing this combination on the wedding day as well.

During the ceremony, they stood at the front holding hands while the officiant conducted their service. The aisle was lined with two white pillars that had ivory and yellow flower assortments on top.
Jeff and Jason wore matching outfits from Brooks Brothers on their wedding day. They both sported tan suits with white collared shirts and navy striped ties. A boutonniere of yellow craspedias and ivory roses was pinned to each of their lapel jackets.
The reception took place outside on the patio at La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, California. Strings of lights hung over the round dining tables dressed in white tablecloths and navy napkins. A long dessert table was positioned in the middle of the reception space, displaying the classic white wedding cake along with ivory and yellow flower centerpieces.
Glass vases were filled with ivory hydrangeas, yellow spider chrysanthemums and yellow craspedias that were arranged by Jensen's Foods. White candles in glass surrounded the centerpieces on the table.
Dining tables were dressed in white tablecloths and accented with navy blue napkins. On top of the napkins were the cookie wedding favors, shaped as different states that were symbolic to the couple. "We asked the bakery, Exquisite Desserts, to create customer cookies of the United States that marked Brooklyn [Jeff's home], Dallas [Jason's home] and La Quinta," the couple says.
The two-tiered ivory wedding cake had no decorations besides a single yellow craspedia and green succulent. The cake was baked by Exquisite Desserts and displayed on a white elegant square stand. The cake was on a long table in the middle of the reception space, which was decorated in several yellow and ivory flower arrangements.
