A Simple, Classic Wedding at Windows on Washington in St. Louis, Missouri

Ashley Krominga (27 and works in human resources) and Tyler Hill (27 and an engineer) chose to have their wedding at Windows on Washington in St. Louis, Missouri. Not only was it where they met, but they also loved the modern, loft feel of the room (plus, they could have the ceremony and reception in the same place!). Scott Hepper from Walter Knoll Florist created all the floral arrangements for the day including the modern (and very cool!) green and white bridesmaid bouquets with grass wrapping over the top. “I met with Scott and knew I was in good hands,” Ashley says. “He understood my style, and I gave him creative freedom. I'm so glad I put my trust in him because what he created was better than anything I could ever have imagined.” Ashley and Tyler knew there were certain aspects of the wedding they wanted to splurge on, but a wedding dress wasn’t one of them. Ashley ordered her A-line strapless, rosette-covered dress online from Nordstrom. Her mother handmade a crystal belt to complete her look, which Ashley could detach and wear again! The wedding was decorated with a simple navy, green, gray and ivory color palette for a simple, classic look. But, they really wanted a delicious menu and added food throughout the reception such as the super local Gus' Pretzels escort cards and John's Donuts dessert. They also added a local touch to the St. Louis-themed favors that included gooey butter cake from Gouey Louey, Billy Goat Chips, Schlafly Beer, a Schlafly Beer opener, Fitz's Soda and Crown Candy chocolate. Yum!

Ashley, with the help of her sister, made the invitations herself and even learned calligraphy to address the envelopes herself.
Ashley wore classic silver Jimmy Choo peep-toe heels to add a little glamorous flair to her otherwise simple look.
Walter Knoll Florist created bouquets of white roses and ranunculus, hypericum berries and grass for a modern look. I met with Scott and knew I was in good hands,” Ashley says. “He understood my style and I gave him creative freedom. I am so glad that I put my trust in him because what he created was better than anything I could ever have imagined.”
Ashley carried roses and ranunculus in her lush white bouquet.
The bridesmaids wore blue dresses of their choice. “We didn't want people to purchase something they didn't like, didn't fit well or wouldn't wear again so we told them a color,” Ashley says. “That way, if they already had a dress or suit, they wouldn't have to purchase something new.”
Ashley wore a strapless white wedding dress with rosettes on the skirt that she bought online from Nordstrom. “I wanted a simple dress that would be easy to move around,” she says. “My mom handmade my crystal belt which made my look and is the most special accessory that I get to wear again. It is detachable so I can wear it on special occasions like our upcoming anniversary!”
