Shelley Thompson (26 and a teacher) and Michael Daniels (25 and a mechanical engineer) met at their neighborhood bar. About two years later, Mike took Shelley to one of their favorite parks along the water in Seattle. He set up their camera to get a picture of them and proposed. “I’m so thankful to have a picture of the moment because it was such an exciting blur,” Shelley says. The couple chose to get married in Sun Valley, Idaho because Shelley grew up there, and it’s their favorite place to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking. “It was important to us that our color palette was simple and timeless,” Shelley says. “Also, that it not compete with our already beautifully decorated rustic venue.” They chose neutral colors of pink, ivory and gray. Their florist Tara Bella Flowers created lush rose and snowberry bouquets to fit the simple, classic neutral theme. The best part of the day? The delicious menu! From the Bride: “We had crab cakes, red pepper and goat cheese bruschetta, and herb and cheese stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. For dinner we had a mixed green salad with apples and a mustard-cider vinaigrette. Our entrée options were flatiron steak or chicken breast in a marsala wine sauce, both of which included vegetables and mashed potatoes. We also had a vegetarian option, as I am a vegetarian, which was a grilled vegetable phyllo torte.”

The wedding invitations were decorative soft pink and were made on Etsy.
Michael proposed with a square-cut engagement ring. They paired it with a simple diamond band.
The bride wore bright pink Kate Spade heels for a pop of color.
Shelley wore a Christos strapless lace wedding dress. “I wanted a dress that was classically beautiful, comfortable and fit the relaxed mountain wedding feel we desired,” Shelley says. “That’s exactly what I found.”
The bride carried roses, hydrangeas and pink snowberries in her soft pink and white bridal bouquet.
Bridesmaids Getting Ready
The bridesmaids wore taupe cocktail dresses in different styles from J Crew. The groomsmen wore classic black suits and ties.
The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, which were made of roses and pink snowberries.

“Our guest favors were little jars of a local mustard, Sun Valley Mustard,” Shelley says. “To make them match our wedding style a bit more, I tied some lace on their caps with some twine.” rn
