A Simple, Classic Wedding at Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio
Janet Nester (29, a project coordinator) and Rob Olszewski (31, a senior metrologist) first met at a bar when they were out with with their roommates in Phoenix, Arizona. What began as a deep friendship eventually turned into a relationship. Almost four years later, Rob proposed to Janet when they took a break while they were hiking at Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park. The couple held their wedding at the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio that had an outdoor garden area where the ceremony took place. “We were attracted to the peacefulness and beauty of the gardens,” says Janet. “We love the outdoors and wanted to celebrate our marriage there.” Since they had met in the desert of Arizona, Janet and Rob incorporated small southwestern touches into the decor, such as succulents within flower arrangements and linen paper wedding invitations with a succulent design. Simple white programs were placed in a basket at the outdoor garden ceremony, decorated with green flower details. At the reception, teal paper lanterns hung above tables topped with white linens and blue table numbers. For dessert, guests enjoyed a variety of cakes that ranged in flavors from strawberry to butterscotch praline.
