A Simple, Classic Wedding at Moulin Events in St. Louis, Missouri

Katie Fischer (30 and a physician assistant) and Jared Fischer (30 and an internal auditor) met on Match.com, and Jared proposed in a gondola in Spain. The couple had a traditional religious ceremony at the Graham Chapel on the Washington University campus because they loved the gorgeous design and swoon-worthy stained glass windows. Afterwards, they chose Moulin Events for its brick walls and wood floors. Also, Katie and Jared’s first date had been at Vin de Set, a French restaurant on the top floor of the same building, and Katie’s grandfather worked in the building back in the day. “He passed away years ago, but I certainly felt like he was there with us,” Katie says. “It really made me feel like it was all meant to be.” During cocktail hour, the couple served their signature drink called the Fischbowl. “Get it? We're the Fischers,” Katie says. Wanting to match their simple style, they kept their decor minimum with small centerpieces and candlelight. One of the best parts of the day was when Katie’s father played Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young” on his guitar for his toast and Frankie Valli’s “Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" for Katie and Jared’s first dance. Also, Jared wrote, recorded and played some of his songs during the reception as well.
