A Simple, Classic Wedding at Hampton University Memorial Chapel in Hampton, Virginia
Taylor Welch (23, special educator) and Alex Nuttycombe (24, financial advisor) met in high school, but they didn't start dating until college. Alex proposed to Taylor at a scenic overlook in Wintergreen during a family vacation by asking her which rock she liked and then showing her the rock he bought her, a cushion cut diamond ring. Their wedding took place at the breathtaking Memorial Chapel at Hampton University. Taylor and Alex chose a clean color palette of navy and red, and they spiced up their decor with cool chevron patterns as focal points. The groomsmen and ring bearers wore navy chevron bow ties and the flower girl wore a navy chevron dress while the groom wore a navy blazer with a red chevron bow tie. Taylor wore a sweet A-line wedding dress with a beaded chiffon belt. Her bridesmaids wore knee length red dresses and her maid of honor wore a floor length navy blue dress. Taylor and Alex incorporated vintage items into their decor, including lanterns and old paint cans on the sweetheart table. Dinner was southern style and dessert consisted of a dessert table covered in cookies and a buttercream wedding cake. Taylor and Alex kept things classy at their navy and red wedding with clean lines and simple decor.
