Susan Goodrich (32 and a mental health therapist) and Dan Garvin (31 and works in scrap metal recycling) met through mutual friends on their way to a Zac Brown Band concert. Dan proposed two years later in their hotel room in Vail, Colorado, in front of giant windows overlooking the mountains. They chose the Grand Hyatt Denver for their wedding, which they toured while it was under construction. But, they loved the views of the mountains from the 38th floor and knew it would be perfect no matter how the construction turned out. They worked with the onsite coordinator, Marta Russell, who really sealed the deal on the location. “She was a great fit for us from the start, very direct, organized and experienced,” Susan says. “We felt she was the number one reason the entire wedding process, from start to finish, went so smoothly and was entirely enjoyable for us and our families.” Not really having a theme or style in mind, Susan and Dan focused on keeping their wedding simple and classic. They ended up using a neutral color palette of ivory, gray and black and worked with Nature's Grace Design to create the beautiful floral arrangements throughout the day. At the end of the night, they enjoyed a four-tier fondant brown sugar poundcake with Bailey's mascarpone toffee and white cake with mascarpone creme, strawberries and strawberry preserves made by Grand Hyatt.

The groom wore a simple white ranunculus for his boutonniere.
Susan wore an Allure 8800 wedding dress with taupe fabric underneath the ivory lace overlay accented with embroidery and crystals. She completed the look with a K. L. Johnson veil.
Susan carried a round bouquet including garden roses, lisianthus, sweet peas, ranunculus, stock and fern.
The bridesmaids wore Heidi-style chiffon dresses from J. Crew.
Dan proposed with a round-cut, six-prong diamond ring with a white gold band from Tender Loving Carats in Denver.
“The cake was made by the pastry chef at the Denver Grand Hyatt,” Susan says. “It was a four-tier, round cake in all white with different decorative designs, pearls and flowers on each tier. The flavors of the cake were brown sugar poundcake with Bailey's mascarpone toffee and white cake with mascarpone creme, strawberries and strawberry preserves.”
