A Simple, Classic Wedding at Galleria Marchetti in Chicago, Illinois

Daniel Arwady (27 and an account executive) and Angela Ingrassia (26 and an HR associate) met through a mutual friend while both attending the University of Illinois. After years of dating, Dan surprised Angela by proposing at Cite restaurant in Chicago, IL. Little did Angela know, Dan had another surprise for her. Dan invited 70 friends to their apartment that night to celebrate their engagement. The couple chose to have their ceremony at the Assumption Catholic Church in Chicago, IL and their reception close by at the Galleria Marchetti for its delicious menu. After being unable to find the perfect dress, Angela had a ball gown made just for her. Burgundy was the color of the day and added to the elegant feel of the day. The reception was decorated with warm lighting and romantic colors. "I wanted my guests to feel like this was a celebration, not only about us, but also about them being a part of our growth as a couple," Angela said of her color choices. A variety of simple, glass centerpieces with white floral arrangements decorated the tables. Most important to Dan and Angela were their personal touches. Angela's grandfather loved making jewelry and made her a lot of pieces prior to his death shortly before the wedding. Angela's grandfather made her necklace, earrings and a bracelet she wore. Angela's brother and his wife were deployed in the Middle East at the time of the wedding so two seats were left open for them at the head table. Because of their joint love for music, Dan and Angela had a full live band play at their reception. "It was an incredible party with so much dancing," Angela said. With the intimate setting, Dan, Angela and all of their guests were able to celebrate the proclamation of love that day.
