A Simple, Classic Wedding at Betty Reckas Cultural Center in Long Beach, California
Although the idea of an intimate court wedding was tempting at first, Angie Lee (29 and a fashion designer) and Brian Ko (28 and a masters student of physician assistance) decided to celebrate their marriage with friends and family while keeping it traditional and simple. The couple had their classic courtyard ceremony and indoor reception at Betty Reckas Cultural Center, a Greek Orthodox Church in Long Beach, California. The venue was decorated in a formal color palette of gold, blush, black and whites, ranging from the off-white tablecloths at the reception to the black tuxedos and champagne dresses worn by the wedding party. Everly Events helped plan the gold-accented details found throughout the ceremony and reception, which added a touch of elegance without being too overdone. The entire affair was photographed by Perpixel Photography. What really caught our attention were the unique wedding favors of Himalayan rock salt in glass jars, which guests (understandably) raved about. “The guests were each given a glass jar of Himalayan rock salt to use in baths or cooking," the couple says. "We still hear to this day our guests telling us that they love the salt and are using it meagerly, in hopes that it lasts."
