A Simple, Chic Wedding at Figure Eight Island Yacht Club in Wilmington, North Carolina

Here's proof that a wedding doesn’t have to be over the top to be gorgeous. Carol Ann Pyburn (30 and a teacher) and Lockett Tally (34 and a lawyer) used a chic ivory, green and navy color palette and tons of refined details for their waterfront soiree. A family friend let Carol Ann and Lockett use their perfectly manicured beachfront lot for their nuptials. They were so grateful for the swoon-worthy location that set the tone for the entire day. Not wanting to compete with the space, they kept their decor to a minimum. But June Sweeny from Beautiful Flowers by June created lush floral arrangements that added a romantic aura throughout the details. We love the amazing chandelier covered in ferns, hydrangeas and roses that served as the focal point for the tented reception at Figure Eight Island Yacht Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. “It was one of my favorite things,” Carol Ann says. “June did a phenomenal job.” Wedding coordinator Jennifer Mitchell from the yacht club ensured all the details came together without a hitch. One of our favorite parts was Carol Ann’s stunning custom Liancarlo wedding dress. “I found a picture of my dream wedding gown years before,” Carol Ann says. “I was so happy to learn that the amazing people at Alexia Bridal Boutique in Raleigh, North Carolina, could help me create this dress. I chose to have lace on top and satin from the waist down. I also wanted a portrait neckline that has a V in the front and back. Not having tried on any dress that fits this description, it was a leap of faith that definitely paid off. It was the most comfortable dress ever.” There are so many details we love—see them all, beautifully captured by Heba Salama Photography, below.
