A Simple, Casual Wedding at Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Connecticut
Jessica Foster (29 and a director of business development) and Dominic Foster (30 and an assistant controller) took the beautiful property at the Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Connecticut, and turned it into the natural spring wedding of their dreams. "Once we saw the beauty of the Eolia Mansion mixed with the natural preservation of the property," Jessica says, "it was clear this was where we would get married." Kevin Kelley Photography captured the simple wedding from the tented ceremony and cocktail hour to the indoor formal dinner. Jessica initially did not have an exact theme for the wedding day, but knew she wanted to have a gray and yellow color palette. She decided on a simple theme opting to keep the wedding style natural. She wore a classic, off-white lace wedding dress with a trumpet-style silhouette while her bridesmaids wore gray Ann Taylor dresses in various styles with yellow peep-toe heels. Jessica and Dominic admit that cocktail hours are their favorite parts of weddings, so they extended their cocktail hour to an hour and a half for guests to enjoy fun outdoor games and listen to indie rock music. The dinner was moved inside to the more formal, elegant mansion where small centerpieces of white lanterns and vases combined with yellow and white floral arrangements decorating the gray dining tables. "The theme was to keep things simple, minimal and natural with accents of wood, silver and beeswax candles," Jessica says. Jessica and Dominic wanted their wedding to be a fun affair for all their guests. "We made sure laughing and smiles were everywhere and drinks, food and dancing filled the evening making memories that will last a lifetime," Jessica says.
