A Simple Black and White Wedding at Wetherington Golf and Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio

Brett Bergman (24 and in retirement plan administration) and Andy Koenig (25 and an engineer) went to the same high school but didn’t get to know each other until they were students attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. They were set up through mutual friends and went on a double date, which was when their love story began. The couple spent the entire weekend together, getting pampered with manicures and pedicures along with doing some Christmas shopping. As they were decorating their Christmas tree, Andy decided it was the right time to propose to Brett. The couple had their simple, elegant wedding ceremony inside Kumler Chapel at Miami University, with high ceilings, stained glass windows and dark wood. The wedding party was dressed in black dresses and gray suits, following the wedding color palette of black and white accented with gray. The reception took place at Wetherington Golf and Country Club in West Chester, Ohio with black napkins and white candles decorating the tables. Small round cakes were placed on tall stands for each table, giving guests a chance to mingle over trying each of the different flavors. “One thing our wedding guests still talk about the cakes! They thought it was so much fun to taste all of the different cakes, and it was a unique feature that most had never seen before,” says Brett.
