A Simple Beach Wedding at the Loews Don Cesar Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida

Noreen Qureshi (33 and an accountant) and Sean Powley (29 and a software developer) met at the gym and became friends before they started dating. “After a short friendship we felt very comfortable with one another and started looking towards the future,” says Noreen. Sean proposed to her twice. The first time was without a ring so Noreen could help select the ring she liked best. “When it was delivered by the jeweler, he immediately got down on one knee and proposed,” she says. Noreen and Sean were married eight months later surrounded by 11 close family members. They decorated the space with a simple fabric covered arch and let the beach backdrop serve as their main decor. Noreen and Sean also put their focus for the wedding on family. They flew their guests to Florida a week before the wedding just so they could enjoy time together and relax. To ensure that all felt included in the couple’s sand mixing beach ceremony and wedding, Noreen had corsages and boutonnieres made for each of their guests, she says. The couple and their family then moved inside the Loews Don Cesar Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida for a reception complete with mocktails individual desserts.
