A Simple Beach Wedding at South Seas Island Resort in Captiva, Florida
Jackie Arnold (26 and in human resources) and John Arnold (27 and in finance) have experienced many of their romantic milestones while traveling. They met while on vacation in Athens, Greece, and got engaged while in Portugal. With this in mind, they decided to have a destination wedding at South Seas Island Resort in Captiva, Florida, where they could have an outdoor ceremony followed by a dance-filled reception. "The natural setup at South Seas was perfect for us," Jackie says. Their beach-themed wedding, captured by Impressions Photography, featured a sea blue, white and tan color palette with many seashell accents. "We wanted to use these colors, since they reflected the sea and we were married by the water on Captiva Island," Jackie says. While Jackie carried a white bouquet of lilies and tulips with a few small seashells, her bridesmaids held arrangements solely made of seashells! Dan Lamey acted as the officiant for the ceremony that took place on King's Crown Lawn overlooking Pine Island Sound. Following the ceremony, the reception moved inside to the King's Crown indoor venue, where the beach theme continued with dining tables decorated with white tablecloths and fishbowl centerpieces with a single blue candle, sand and seashells. Thank You for the Dance Entertainment kept guests on their feet, celebrating the newlyweds. For future brides and grooms, Jackie and John say to truly enjoy the day: "Remember to relax and try to absorb every moment, since it goes by quickly."
