A Simple Beach Wedding at Private Residence in Destin, Florida

From the bright pink stargazer lily-accented bouquet to the understated bamboo wedding arch, Christa Bacon (28 and a ballroom dance instructor) and Carl Madanchi’s (36 and a ballroom dance instructor) beach wedding was both simple and fun. “I'd describe our theme as minimalist magic,” Christa says. Wynona Benson Photography was there to capture every moment as the day started with a barefoot beach ceremony and ended in a casual reception at a rented beach house in Destin, Florida. With the help of Crystal Beach Weddings and their day-of coordinator, Christa and Carl accented their oceanfront ceremony space with a bamboo arch, white chairs and blush sheer chair sashes. A close friend arranged an eye-catching arrangement of silk pink stargazer lilies, pink hydrangea and white calla lilies for Christa that complemented the decor. Another standout pink detail was the couple’s wedding cake. Heidi at Bake My Day made the couple a two-tier pink confection accented with cotton candy and swirl piping. Black-and-white feathers were also placed on the side for an added whimsical touch. For future couples, Christa shares a tip: “I recommend limiting how many opinions you get from others because it only makes the deciding part harder. Do your research. The Internet is a wonderful tool that we are all privy to. I used websites like Thumbtack.com and Wedding.com to find great vendors, and it saved us so much money. Of course, Pinterest was great to get me started on ideas and possibilities.”
