A Simple Barn Wedding With a Rustic Twist at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish, Washington

Decor was kept simple inside the barn at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish, Washington, because the venue was already filled with plenty of rustic character, and also to keep the focus on the couple and their love for each other. “We wanted our day to focus on us as a couple and not be overshadowed by flowers, tulle and centerpieces,” Kelsi Graffis (26 and a meetings and events manager) says of her marriage to Billy Briseboise Jr. (25 and a web content-design specialist). “The only decor the venue provided was white lights strung up and down the barn's wooden pillars. They gave the venue so much character, we felt it was enough and needed just simple accents the rest of the way.” The ceremony took place inside the upper-level area of the barn, where natural light filled the rustic space decorated with small-flower arrangements on pillars. After the couple said their vows and “I dos,” they walked up the aisle as guests waved gold and pink flags in celebration of their marriage, captured by Melissa Miksch Photography. Guests were taken downstairs for the reception, where wooden pillars were wrapped with string lights, sparkling just like the crystals on Kelsi’s belt that was worn over her ivory wedding dress designed by La Sposa. The mint napkins, gold chiavari chairs and coral dahlias added pops of color to dining tables, embodying the color palette made up of those three exact shades. We loved the glass vases filled with wine corks that contained lush arrangements of lilies and dahlias, combining rustic and elegant elements all into one decoration. “We could not have had our day without the support all our guests gave us throughout our engagement and while we were dating,” Kelsi says.
