An Elegant Ballroom Wedding at Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton, California

Julia Black (26 and a consultant) and Derek McNeil (26 and a regional manager) started working at a new company at the same time, so they participated in training for six weeks together. Julia and Derek got to know each other over several team-building events, and by the time training was complete, they were officially dating. One year later, the couple bought train tickets to the Grand Canyon for vacation. Once they arrived at their destination, Derek wanted to take some photos at the edge of the canyon. They walked off the trail, and Derek found the perfect moment to propose. The wedding took place at Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton, California, because of its convenient indoor-outdoor location. Flower arrangements of roses and hydrangeas reflected the elegant wedding's purple, white and champagne color palette. Julia wore an ivory dress with a beaded corset, tulle straps and a full skirt designed by Kenneth Pool. Derek donned a classic black tuxedo with a white dress shirt and black bow tie. The reception dinner ended on a sweet note with the three-tiered ivory wedding cake, which had coffee flavoring (Derek’s personal favorite) on top!
