A Simple and Elegant Wedding at The Estate of John's Lake in Oakland, Florida

A light color palette of white, pale pink and champagne brought a romantic feeling to the wedding of David Fraga, a 25-year-old police officer, and his bride Heather Fraga, a 27-year-old property manager. The couple married in front of 150 guests at The Estate of John’s Lake in Oakland, Florida, the same area where the bride grew up. “We wanted everything pretty simple and elegant,” Heather says of her nuptials, which consisted of an outdoor ceremony and an indoor/outdoor reception. The bride incorporated many personal touches into her look, including wrapping lace from her aunt’s wedding dress around her bouquet. “I wanted individual pieces that tied in together and had special meaning,” she says. “Everything was very special to me and I felt beautiful the day I became a Mrs.”. The bride and groom also found a special way to honor family members who have passed away and couldn’t be with them on their special day. In lieu of party favors, they donated money to charitable organizations in their family members’ honor.
