A Shabby Chic Wedding at The River Centre at The Landing in Van Buren, Missouri
Lacey Morrison (23 and a stay-at-home mom) and Michael Brawley (22 and self-employed) met in middle school. After dating for five years, Michael proposed at their home. The couple chose The River Centre at The Landing for its rustic space and giant windows overlooking the river. Plus, Lacey worked there during the summer when she was in high school and knew the staff would be easy to work with to make her wedding perfect. Wanting a shabby chic vibe, the couple mixed rustic and elegant details such as the metal and wood gazebo, decorated with a crystal chandelier, which was brought inside to serve as the wedding arbor. They used soft shades of pink, coral, turquoise and khaki for their color palette for a natural, casual, romantic feel. They worked with Doniphan Flowers and Gifts to create all of the lush, garden-inspired floral arrangements. At the end of the night, Lacey and Michael served two weddings cakes: a three-tier white and blue fondant cake with coral sugar flower and a two-tier chocolate peanut butter cake topped with Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups. Since Lacey and Michael love to cook and bake, they sent guests home with jars of sprinkles, cinnamon and vanilla extract, their favorite ingredients.
