A Shabby-Chic Wedding at the Mill At Yellow River in Porterdale, Georgia
Nicole Crumbley (25 and a clinical behavioral specialist) and Brandon Crumbley (23 and a special education teacher) broke out their cowboy boots for a shabby-chic wedding that fit their rustic style. Their restored venue, the Mill At Yellow River in Porterdale, Georgia, was a big part of that. “When I walked in, it was everything I envisioned for where I would marry my best friend,” Nicole says. Their geometric wooden wedding arch highlighted the Mill’s garden during the ceremony. Once they moved inside for the reception, each piece of decor drew on the space's wooden beams, exposed brick walls and more than 100-year-old heritage. Vintage metal chandeliers filled the room with candlelight. Keeping with the rustic vibe, each family-style table was also paired with mason jars and wax flowers in bulb vases. To take things a step further, every tier of Nicole and Brandon’s wedding cake was wrapped with burlap and lace. His groom’s cake even called out Brandon's favorite hobby: duck hunting. At the heart of it all, however, were Nicole and Brandon’s laid-back personalities and love for each other. “We could not have asked for a better day,” Nicole says.
