A Shabby-Chic Wedding at the Barn at Kennedy Farm in Lizton, Indiana

"From the moment you pull up to the barn, you get this peaceful sensation that there's nothing but happiness in the world," Tara Thornburg (27 and an emergency physician assistant) says of the Barn at Kennedy Farm in Lizton, Indiana, where she exchanged vows with Tyler Trent (26 and an operations manager). "I know it sounds cheesy, but we arrived for the first time on a sunny, breezy day and just walked hand and hand all around the property. I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time." Once the small-town couple found their dream venue, they enlisted the help of wedding planner Tonya from Circle City Planners & Designers to add a glamorous urban feel to the otherwise rustic space. "I wanted a feeling of summer, country love with the mature touches of elegance a wedding and love like ours deserved," Tara says. "We were very fortunate to find the elegant city flair of Tonya." Using a black, white, turquoise and blush palette—accented with plenty of sparkle—Tara and Tyler brought their vision to life in the shabby-chic soiree.
