A Shabby Chic Wedding at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen, Colorado

Channing Kennedy (27 and a nonprofit program director) and Kellan Bethke (26 and in the military) wanted their wedding to be rustic and natural. They chose The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen, Colorado, because it had a little bit of everything, from the gray barn to stained-glass windows to gorgeous pastures and even a lake. “We chose The Barn primarily because of the beautiful location -- the views of the mountains are spectacular there,” Channing says. “The Barn itself was unique and interesting, and offered a one-of-a-kind backdrop for our wedding day.” Staying true to their vision of the day, they used neutral shades of champagne, blush, green and ivory to complement their organic location. Hearts In Bloom Flowers created all the textured floral arrangements, including the lush reception table garlands that added a garden feel to the alternative ballroom. Joshua McDonald Photography beautifully captured all the details of the day. One of the best parts was the delicious menu from Jim ’N Nick's BBQ. “Jim ’N Nick’s is a barbecue restaurant that actually started in my home state of Alabama,” Channing says. “Although the company is now operating across the county, they still make many of their dishes from scratch, including amazing cheese biscuits and chocolate pies.” Wanting to add a little more homage to her Southern roots, Channing also served Alabama craft brews from Good People and Back Forty Beer Company. One of the couple’s favorite parts of the day was the alternative thumbprint guest book. "It serves as a constant reminder of our wedding day and our supportive network of family and friends," Channing says.
