A Shabby-Chic Wedding at Starlight Meadow in Burlington, North Carolina

Since Kimberly Schoolcraft (44 and a director of sales) and Jim Sparrow (45 and a water specialist) had both been married before, they wanted to focus on bringing their two families together. They incorporated all six of their children, with Jim’s two daughters walking him down the aisle, his son following and Kimberly’s three sons walking her down the aisle. The entire family also gathered around the altar during the ceremony and did the unity tradition together. With a focus on love and family, Kimberly and Jim chose a venue that would let them customize the space to their needs to feel ultra-personal. Starlight Meadow in Burlington, North Carolina, offered a relaxed, casual aura that the couple customized for their vision. Julie Williams from Blossom Artistry doubled as florist and designer and created stunning natural arrangements, including textured proteas, and the white linen and string-light wall decor. “It transformed the typical barn into a magical place,” Kimberly says. One of our favorite details were the monograms that adorned everything, from the ceremony and reception doors to the cake topper. Another standout detail? The perfectly shabby-chic cake from Carolyn's Cakes. The textured buttercream was decorated with silver crystals for true rustic refinement.
