A Shabby Chic Wedding at St. Paul College Club in St. Paul, Minnesota

Ashley Distel (21 and a wedding planner) and Layne Gruman (24 and in the US Marine Corps) used a mint, pink and gold color palette complete with chalkboards and burlap for their shabby chic wedding theme. Jeannine Pohl beautifully captured all the details of the day. “When we got our pictures from Jeannine Marie Photography, we were stunned by how well all the colors blended,” Ashley says. "We couldn't have asked for a better photographer to capture all the little details we worked so hard to pull together." The couple decided to bring their vision to life at St. Paul College Club in St. Paul, Minnesota, because of its stone exterior and beautiful gardens. Since Ashley is a wedding planner, she made a lot of the details herself, such as the lush pink floral arrangements, chalkboard-inspired stationery and burlap table runners. One of the best parts, though, was her stunning blush Allure wedding dress. She loved the alternative color, and also the corset top and full skirt of the ball gown silhouette. The gorgeous lace overlay sealed the deal and set the tone for the rest of the wedding. She completed her look with a rhinestone belt from Etsy and a crystal headband for a little added glamour. At the end of the night, the couple got groovy on the dance floor -- something they wanted everyone to feel comfortable doing at their upbeat soiree. “We had awesome music, which was very important to us,” Ashley says. “Brian from Cookies and Cognac was our DJ and did a phenomenal job. It was important for us to make our guests feel like they could let loose and have a good time.”
