A Shabby-Chic Purple Wedding at a Private Residence in Spooner, Wisconsin

With gorgeous rolling hills and towering trees in the Wisconsin countryside, it’s no wonder why Meg Buchmann (23 and an interior designer) and Alex Arndt (25 and an electronics technician) got married at Meg’s family’s home in Spooner, Wisconsin. “I always wanted an outdoor wedding at the home she grew up in,” Meg says. “Although this was their new home, it still had special meaning. The ceremony itself was down in the valley while the sun was setting, and the reception was held on the front lawn in a big white tent with lots of lights.” It was the perfect backdrop for the shabby-chic soiree, and Meg and Alex used plenty of mason jars and twine to play up the theme. They added lots of chic accents too, with the formal wedding party attire and stunning florals. Meg and Alex bought all the fresh flowers from Spooner Flower Shop, while Meg’s mother grew some of the smaller wildflowers herself. Meg and Alex used several shades of purple and paired them with green and ivory for a natural feel—a look we can't help but love.
