A Shabby Chic Pink Wedding at Crooked Willow Farms in Larkspur, Colorado
Charlotte Mahony (31 and an executive assistant) and Kevin Mahony (30 and an industrial electrician) wanted their wedding to be completely reflective of them -- simple and easygoing. Bliss Elevated ensured the couple got hitched without a hitch, and David Lynn Photography beautifully captured all the details of the day. Charlotte and Kevin chose a classic pink and light gray color palette and accented it with rustic details such as burlap. But Pink Posey Design added a refined twist to the rustic details with gorgeous floral arrangements that added a little romance to the day. The couple chose to have their nuptials at Crooked Willow Farms in Larkspur, Colorado, because of its abundance of options and gorgeous 90 acres' worth of views. “It's also a private training and sales facility for top hunter and jumper sport horses,” Charlotte says. “It was just so beautiful, and truly showcased how gorgeous Colorado is in the late summer.” Not wanting their day to just be about them becoming husband and wife, the couple made sure to include Kahlyn, Kevin’s daughter, into the entire day in honor of the three of them becoming a family. The couple added some ultra-local touches to their wedding, such as the locally produced beer and wine, which helped showcase all that Colorado has to offer. “We both grew up here and are very proud of that,” Charlotte says. They also gave guests a piece of Colorado in the goodie bags with Boulder chips, Denver mint truffles and green chiles. One of the best parts, though, was the delicious wedding cake. “We were excited to learn that our cake, which was so simple, won Crooked Willow's own Best Cake of 2014 award (the venue does its own best-of awards every year). It was so cool to win because our focus was more on having a dessert that guests would enjoy.”
