A Shabby Chic Mountain Wedding at Grand Lake Yacht Club in Grand Lake, Colorado
Amy Finch (32 and a principal of a marketing and events company) and Mark Vaught (30 and a financial analyst) met at the CandleLight, a dive bar, in Denver, Colorado. Mark proposed two years later during a summer vacation in Italy. “Because the ring was burning a hole in his pocket, he got down on one knee the first day we arrived,” Amy says. “We were sitting on our balcony, overlooking Lake Como. I was over the moon! Only problem was that I didn't have international cell service, so I had to wait 10 days to get home to call all of my best friends. That was painful.” They had their intimate wedding close to home at the Grand Lake Yacht Club in Grand Lake, Colorado, since both of their families own cabins in town. Their well-trained golden retriever, Dublin, was the ring bearer and carried a box with the rings in his mouth down the aisle. After the ceremony, the newlyweds were able to take a quick ride in a boat on the lake (one of their favorite parts!) before the reception. Instead of traditional escort cards, the couple used old photos of their guests, including some from childhood, so everyone could reminisce while finding their seating arrangements. Amy and Mark used navy and blush as their main colors and decorated the reception with wood farm tables, floral arrangements by Cori Cook, mercury glass, lace table runners, chalkboard table numbers and candlelit lanterns for a rustic, but romantic feel.
