A Shabby-Chic Fall Wedding at Historic Travellers Rest Plantation in Nashville, Tennessee

Elizabeth George (32, Music Marketing) and Brian Parker (36, Quality Assurance) went on their first date after connecting on Match.com. After a nine-month engagement, the pair hosted an elegant celebration at Historic Travellers Rest Plantation in Nashville, TN. "We chose Travellers Rest because of its Southern plantation charm," says Elizabeth. "It also has a great indoor venue, so we were able to have our wedding outside under their beautiful magnolia trees, and then the perfect indoor reception! During cocktail hour, guests were given the opportunity to tour the historic plantation home and explore the beautiful grounds before a seasonal buffet and lively party. An ivory, dark jade and rust color palette and burlap accents added to the shabby-chic decor. "I wanted to make sure we had a color palette that reflected our fall date but I didn't want to use the typical oranges and browns," says Elizabeth. " The couple chose rust and blush flowers to complement the deep green bridesmaids dresses and reused these bouquets for their centerpieces. "One of the most memorable moments was the Century Dance during our reception," says Elizabeth. "We had all of the married couples come to the dance floor, which started out full and slowly whittled down to two couples who had been married over 50 years!"
