A Shabby-Chic Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in North Carolina
After meeting through mutual friends, Mollie Gregory (29 and a cosmetologist) and Vic White (26 and a commercial fisherman) exchanged vows during a backyard North Carolina affair. "I've always imagined my dream wedding taking place in my parents' front yard, under an oak tree that my granddaddy Sterling Lee Gregory Sr. planted 30 years ago," says Mollie. "Their home is surrounded by 150 acres of family farm, and one of my favorite details was the arch that my dad made -- it was breathtaking and I couldn't believe it was all for me and Vic!" Inspired by their casual outdoor setting, the couple decided on a rustic theme brought to life with burlap and lace accents. A color palette of champagne, teal and blush as well as arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, lisiantheus and scabiosa pods warmed the shabby-chic decor. From the wood boxes filled with flowers made by the bride's father for the bridesmaids to carry down the aisle to the homemade strawberry preserves whipped up by grandma Earline Gregory, Mollie and Vic's friends and family contributed personal touches throughout the day. "Every piece of our wedding had meaning, and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of so many others!" says Mollie.
