A Scottish Garden Wedding at The Loft Event Lounge in Brandon, Florida
From a green, gray and purple color scheme to their bagpipe processional and groom’s traditional Gunn family tartan kilt, Krystina Hyde (28 and in the U.S. Air Force) and John Gunn’s (26 and in the U.S. Air Force) wedding was filled with fun elements of John’s Scottish heritage. Kristen Marie Photography LLC was there to capture each moment as the couple shared vows in a rainy Woodmont Clubhouse gazebo ceremony and celebrated at The Loft Event Lounge under silver star accents. “When we met with the event coordinator, everything clicked and felt right. We know everyone could have a blast there!” says Krystina. The Loft Event Lounge team filled their reception with green and purple chair sashes, bright green runners as well as tall silver branches and light-up centerpieces before the couple cut a three-tier wedding cake with John’s five-foot sword! One detail that stood out among each setting was Krystina’s timeless ivory lace wedding dress by Maggie Sottero. “My bridesmaids surprised me with a trip back home to Nevada to go wedding dress shopping,” says Krystina. They had already looked through a few shops when the group stopped at La Soie Bridal in Sacramento, California. There, Krystina found her gown and fell in love with it. A Gunn Clan tartan sash complemented the dress during the ceremony. For future couples, Krystina shares a tip: “Things might go a little wrong on your wedding day. You just need to remember what is important: you are marrying your best friend! On the day of our wedding, the limo driver called when he got to the hotel. He said ‘Hello, I’m outside the Sheraton.’ I said, ‘That's cool but we are at the Embassy Suites!’ You just need to roll with the punches!”
