A Rustic, Woodlands Wedding at Lost Hill Lake Events in St. Clair, Missouri

Blair Molieri (29 and a therapist) and Anthony Molieri (29 and a research associate) met in grad school at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After dating for almost two years, Anthony proposed next to a beautiful lake and yellow aspen trees while camping in October. Inspired by their love for the outdoors, the couple decided to get married outside, and chose Lost Hill Lake Events for its walnut grove ceremony site, oak wood pavilion reception location and beautiful woodlands. “As we began the planning process there were four things we knew we really wanted: campfires, BBQ, beer and pie,” Blair says. “We did our best to keep everything simple, laid back and fun for everyone.” They used shades of purple, orange and yellow for the color palette and added rustic details such as wildflowers, mason jars, burlap and tea lights. Lost Hill Lake provided a variety of vintage furniture to set around for a little antique flair, and allowed them to have three different campfire sites for guests to make s’mores and relax. Since beer was on their list of what was most important to have at their wedding, the couple served Schlafly beer from The Saint Louis Brewery along with BBQ, mac ’n cheese, roasted corn and salad. Pie Oh My! made a delicious variety of pies including Chocolate Bourbon Pecan for dessert. At the end of the night, guests went home with wildflower seeds as a thank you.
