A Rustic Winter Wedding at First Christian Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky

After three years of friendship at Harding University, Cara Moore (21 and a student) and Taylor Payne (24 and a teacher) were set up on a group date by mutual friends and quickly began their relationship. The pair dated long-distance after graduation, and Taylor proposed to Cara during one of her visits. "We went for a walk in this beautiful park with a pond, and he had someone set up a place for him to wash my feet -- but I was still clueless as to what was about to happen," says Cara. "Taylor then went on to explain how much he loved me and how he wanted to be able to serve me for the rest of his life!" The couple hosted a rustic celebration six months later at First Christian Church in the bride's hometown of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. "The church had a lot of natural charm, so it didn't need a lot of decorating, and its size allowed for a larger guest list," says Cara. A pale pink, gold and ivory color palette set the tone for their winter-inspired wedding, while soft clusters of baby's breath centerpieces added texture. Other tables featured small arrangements of pink carnations and dusty miller on burlap table runners. "Our decorations were vintage and eclectic," says Cara. "Nothing matched perfectly, and it looked great!" At the end of the evening, guests were treated to a traditional five-tiered white cake with rosette fondant details and a football stadium groom's cake before the newlyweds took off in a vintage getaway car.
