A Rustic White Wedding at Rock Bottom Pond in Ridgeway, South Carolina

Deer antlers, unfinished wood and white flowers filled Meagan Kirkley (23 and a registered nurse) and Austin Wall’s (25 and a landscaper) stunning rustic wedding. We love how the couple worked in Austin’s love for hunting throughout the details, such as the alternative wooden deer pin boutonnieres and white deer on the guest book. Wanting a gorgeous location on the water to set the tone for their shabby-chic soiree, they picked Rock Bottom Pond in Ridgeway, South Carolina. “We chose this location because it was beautiful, conveniently located near our families and the owners are wonderful,” Meagan says. “It had the exact look that I had always imagined, and was beautiful before any decorations! All amenities were awesome and perfect for the guests.” Meagan and Austin added romance to the space with the leafy vines cascading down the wedding arbor and the gerbera daisy and hydrangea floral arrangements. Another standout detail: Meagan’s not one, but two wedding dresses! She wore a beaded lace trumpet gown for her traditional ceremony and changed into a one-sleeved white cocktail dress for the reception. She enjoyed having the more classic bride look as well the ability to move and dance at the reception—especially since she and one of her bridesmaids performed a surprise dance to “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. “The reception reflected us because we are fun and lively people,” Meagan says. “We were able to interact with everyone and get everyone dancing and making sure they felt comfortable. We kept people on the dance floor all night.” There are so many details we love -- see them all, beautifully captured by Richard Bell Photography, below.
