The Bride Alison Cercone, 28, a senior art director at an advertising agency and co-owner of Sweet Street Gals The Groom Scott McKown, 30, a high school English teacher The Date July 10 Alison and Scott wanted a rustic-chic look with whimsical DIY touches. The weathered wood of the barn locale, shimmery linens and a color scheme of mangoes, golds, crimsons and browns did just the trick.

Alison wore a custom-made flower created with leftover fabric from her dress.
The ring bearer coordinated with a custom-made paisley tie and ring pillow to match.
For their grand entrance into the reception, Alison and Scott rode in on a 1937 Ford pickup truck Alison and her mother spotted at an antique-truck show.
Guests filled bags with the couple’s favorite candies, including gummy bears, Swedish Fish, rock candy and bubble-gum cigars.
A two-tiered chocolate cake with raspberry filling topped the cupcake tower. The topper was made to look just like the couple—right down to the matching dress, suit and tie.
All six bridesmaids wore matching silk shantung dresses with crumb-catcher bodices to complement the pleats in Alison’s dress.
Scott’s dad made a wooden sign to direct guests to the sweets, eats and dancin’.
Alison carried big white dahlias, peach stock, white safari sunset and peach hypericum berries.
Coral linens with white overlays and satin striping rested on the tables.
Seed packets were tied to the escort cards with ribbon and clipped to a clothesline.
Tissue paper pom-poms and strands of bulb lights hung from the tent’s ceiling. The bridal party, plus their dates, sat at a long banquet table in the center.
The ceremony programs also served as fans for the warm summer day.
The candy bar was decked out in the color scheme, and a “How Sweet It Is” sign added a whimsical feel.
The bridesmaid bouquets looked similar to Alison’s with peach gerbera daisies and brown kangaroo paw.
The couple commissioned a local artist to paint the tree for their thumbprint guest book. For some extra-personal touches, their yellow Lab sits next to the tree, and Alison and Scott’s initials are “carved” into the trunk.
