Lauren and Josh met back in middle school, but they didn't start dating until after junior prom (they went together!) The Bride Lauren Tapsell, 25 and a speech language pathologist The Groom Joshua Lennon, 25 and a resident physician in neurology The Date June 6 Above all, they wanted their wedding to be eco-friendly. They chose a barn setting, used in-season flowers, and hired local vendors to pull it off.

The bride carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, peonies, and roses. The stems were wrapped with champagne silk and ivory lace to pair with Lauren’s dress.
The ceremony programs, (which matched the invites) were tied with a pink silk ribbon.
Although the ceremony was supposed to be outside, clouds and rain moved it inside the barn at the last minute. Still, the barn’s rustic feel added to the natural wedding decor.
Each escort card was held by a recycled wine cork and displayed on an antique wooden table with flowers inside the reception barn. The wine cork holders were a nod to the table side wine service featured during dinner.
A string quartet played during the cocktail hour and into the reception, where a DJ took over. The couple danced to Ingrid Michaelson’s “The Way I Am,” for their first dance, which they choreographed a few days before the wedding.
The couple kept the ceremony decor minimal, hanging in-season flowers on chairs just in the first row.
Galvanized watering cans filled with pink and white peonies, hydrangeas and roses topped each table and were given away to guests at the end of the reception.
The cake was frosted with ivory buttercream and accented with pink ribbon and fresh pink peonies.
