A Rustic Wedding at The Hayloft in Somerset, Pennsylvania
James Kuhn, 23, a program director, married Erica Kuhn, 23, a mental health worker, in a rustic wedding at The Hayloft in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The couple first met during their freshman year of college when they lived in the same dorm building. Just before their third year of dating, James surprised Erica with a proposal by spelling out "Marry Me Erica" with Christmas lights. The bride and groom chose The Hayloft as the location for their ceremony and reception. "We chose the location because I always wanted to have a rustic/barn wedding," Erica says. "After searching all over the area, the Hayloft was the prettiest, with the most reasonable prices!" Aqua was the main color and was incorporated into the wedding party attire and various aspects of the decor, which included burlap, mason jars and lace. "The aqua color is my favorite color and reminded me of vintage colors. It was also the best color for the barn/rustic themed wedding I wanted," Erica says. Following the outdoor ceremony, the wedding's 125 guests went to the barn reception, where a variety of Amish cheeses and homemade breads were served before dinner. A DJ kept crowds dancing and having a good time all night. "We are very simple and like to have fun, and I think the whole day showed that about us," says the bride. "Everything was beautiful and whimsical. It was not so formal that you felt that you couldn't get up and dance."
