A Rustic Wedding at Red Barn at Outlook Farm in South Berwick, Maine

Juli, 29 and a customer care team manager, and Jim, 31 and a pilot in the United States Air Force, dated long distance for four years after first being introduced by mutual friends. After both moved to Delaware, Jim waited until they had lived together for a year before surprising Juli with a cushion-cut engagement ring tucked under their Christmas tree. Not afraid of long-distance planning, the couple hosted a spring destination wedding in Maine at Red Barn at The Outlooks Farm. "I love the barn look and feel but since I was planning our wedding from Delaware, I didn't want to commit to a barn location that required catering and rentals," says Juli. "We looked at the Red Barn at The Outlooks Farm and it was the perfect compromise— I still got a beautiful barn look with the wood beams but we also had the convenience of a full service reception hall!" The rustic affair included a color palette of persimmon and purple with touches of turquoise and milk glass centerpieces filled with colorful wildflowers. In lieu of traditional favors, the couple made a charitable donation and gave each guests a Happy Hippo—a chocolate treat from Germany. "Since Jim is a pilot, he took many trips that stopped through Germany and would always bring these goodies home," says Juli.  "We loved them so much that we thought they would be a great way to thank our guests!"
