A Rustic Wedding at Agave Estates in Katy, Texas
Iris Villarreal (26 and an auditor) and James Shene (31 and a regulatory specialist) met at a silly country bar in Pasadena, Texas. Three years later, at Iris’s college graduation party, James led Iris out to her parent’s front yard under the impression that, as the graduation girl, she would be breaking open a pi?ata. Blindfolded, Iris swung away at the pi?ata until ring pops and plastic diamonds came pouring out. When she removed the blindfold, James was down on one knee with a ring. The couple chose to be married at Agave Estates, a rustic, Spanish-style venue in Katy, Texas. The ceremony took place outdoors in front of an outdoor stone fireplace at dusk, followed by a reception indoors. Iris wore two gowns: For the ceremony, she wore a lace and tulle ball gown with cap sleeves, and at the reception, she changed into an ivory sweetheart neckline lace gown with a blush floral sash. A color palette of navy, gray, peach and ivory framed the rustic, romantic wedding. The wedding incorporated an eclectic mix of music, from bagpipes at the conclusion of the ceremony to a mariachi band entertaining throughout dinner. At the reception, the couple pulled out whimsical party favors for guests to enjoy as they danced, as well as a photo booth, cigar bar, lawn jenga and a candy bar.
