A Rustic, Vintage Wedding at the Water Witch Club in Highlands, New Jersey
College sweethearts Luciana (Luci) DiMaggio (25 and a crisis recovery advisor) and Nolan Doyle (29 and a family service specialist) tied the knot in a farm wedding full of vintage touches.
During her dress search, Luci took to the internet to find a wedding gown designer who fit the laid-back aesthetic of their wedding. She purchased an ivory dress with intricate beading from an Australian designer, and local tailor Rosann Tailoring provided alterations.
The ceremony took place at historic St. Andrew’s by-the- Sea — Luci’s childhood church — which is only open during the summer.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen wore vintage-inspired outfits to coordinate with the antique-filled venue. Vintage photographs from family members’ weddings were displayed at the reception, while the treasures of Luci and her mother’s antiquing, like the ring pillow, filled the day’s decor.
The couple served a lemon-flavored naked cake topped with freshly cut lavender from Luci’s mother’s garden. “It was important for everything about the day to be unfussy, which included my hair and makeup,” she says. She opted for natural makeup and wore her brown locks in a half-up style with two braids.
High ceilings and exposed rafters added to the rustic feel of the reception. String lights and garlands provided romance and whimsy.
