A Rustic, Vintage Wedding at Lange Farm in Dade City, Florida
Between the lounge furniture, fireplace altar and bright, succulent-filled bouquets, Shelley Merritt (24 and a sign-language interpreter) and David Kane’s (26 and a software developer) vintage wedding incorporated just the right amount of rustic flair. Life Long Studios documented every yellow, gray and white detail of the day, which started with a simple ceremony at Lange Farm and ended with a fun confetti exit from their open outdoor reception. “The setting is rustic, but our goal was to use furniture and lighting to make it more modern and traditional,” Shelley says. “I really liked the contrast between the building and our decor.” With a little help from their planner and florist, MMD Events, Shelley and David filled their wedding with eye-catching tablescapes and decor. Each family-style table was draped in white linens as an abundance of silver and gray vintage-style lanterns, copper table numbers, succulents and grand orange leaves accented each place setting. One small yet eye-catching detail was the couple’s place cards. Each guest found his or her seat thanks to potted succulent favors that featured their names on bright yellow flags. “The most amazing part of our wedding is the fact that I couldn't pinpoint just one thing that reflected David and me,” Shelley says. “Between MMD Events getting every single detail right, the venue being exactly what we wanted and Lifelong capturing every moment, the entire day screamed ‘us.’ ”
