A Rustic, Vintage Wedding at The Cotton Warehouse in Monroe, Georgia

DC-based couple Virginia Bruner, 28, an attorney and James Kaptuch, 33, an engineer met in what Virginia calls "a terrible dive bar" where James' friends and Virginia's then coworkers would go after work. Despite their capital city digs, the couple planned a destination wedding in Monroe, GA, close to the home of Virginia's grandparents, who would have been unable to attend an out-of-state affair. The couple's family and friends headed south to enjoy a lively celebration filled with Southern hospitality and, personal touches and beautiful historic architecture.Virginia and James hoped to create a rustic, vintage vibe for their nuptials, starting with the perfect setting to set the tone. The Cotton Warehouse, a restored 1890s warehouse with authentic beamwork, flooring and exposed brick, where the wedding took place embodies southern history and charm, with a subtle modern flair. They chose a soft pink and blue color palette for the day, adding vintage, romantic touches like vintage metal tea boxes with roses, hydrangeas and stock and lots of candlelight to the reception décor. Virginia and James added personal touches into the mix as well, displaying photographs of their parents and grandparents on their wedding days. Table numbers displayed significant years in the couple's lives, including birthdays, anniversaries and family member's wedding dates. To ensure their guests enjoyed themselves, the couple kicked off the weekend with a laid-back open rehearsal dinner with karaoke and barbecue. They gave extra attention to the reception menu as well, serving a diverse mix of dishes with vegan, vegetarian and dairy-free options.
