A Rustic Vintage Wedding at Fulford Barn in Brownfield, Texas

Brendan Skipworth, 24, a high school biology teacher, married Macy Skipworth, 22, a graduate student, in a beautiful vintage wedding in Brownfield, Texas. The couple first met in college and were friends before they started dating. "One Christmas break, Brendan and I were texting each other asking for dating advice on other people," Macy says. "Soon we realized we were more excited about getting texts from each other than from those others we were asking advice about." Brendan surprised Macy with a scavenger hunt proposal and presented her with a vintage style rose gold halo ring. The couple chose Fulford Barn as the location for their special day because they wanted an outdoor venue with a woodsy feel rather than a country feel. "Even though I have grown up in Texas, I am not much of a country girl," the bride explains. "Fulford was the perfect combination of enchanting and naturally beautiful." A color palette of mint green and cream with a bit of pink accent helped the couple achieve a vintage chic look at their wedding. The decor included old novels, vintage furniture and DIY programs pasted on old sheet music. Following the outdoor ceremony, guests were served a barbecue dinner with sides of baked potatoes, salad and rolls. Family members baked several sweet treats like chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
