A Rustic Vineyard Wedding at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay, Michigan

Mary Dodge (31 and a saleswoman) and Justin Price (27 and a salesman) met at a bar while Mary was at a bachelorette party. After talking for a while at the bar, Mary wrote her number down on a napkin and slid it over to Justin. Two years later, he knelt down on one knee after an elaborately romantic evening. After work, Mary found a note, a rose, and a dress laid out on her bed. A limo picked her up and drove around town to the special places in their relationship where a friend met her at each site to read a letter from Justin. The journey ended at a mansion where Mary found Justin standing in front of a fireplace mantle with a cushion cut diamond, and the couple started the future together. With most of their family living out of town, Mary and Justin knew they would want their guests to experience one of the most beautiful areas of Michigan, Black Star Farm. With a gorgeous inn, vineyard, and barn on the property, the guests were able to enjoy the farm animals and kittens throughout the area. To incorporate the colors of their natural surroundings, Mary chose a color palette of green, white, and gold with neutral tones seen in the bridesmaid dresses and floral arrangements. With a live band accompanying the cocktail hour and reception, Black Star Farm served a three-course meal each paired with a wine. "As a special surprise, I had asked my cousin to sing and play our wedding song for us, 'What Would I Do With Out You' by Drew Holcombe and The Neighbors. Everyone was surprised, and it made our first dance even more memorable," says Mary.
