A Rustic Vineyard at Kunde Family Estate Winery in Kenwood, California
Mary Okner (28, a lifestyle photographer) and Dillon Okner (28, a project manager) met as teenagers when they were on an apple-picking trip with their high school. They dated throughout high school, college and post-graduation, which was when they finally moved out together to the Silicon Valley in California. They went to an apple orchard in Sebastopol, California one afternoon, where Dillon proposed next to an apple tree. The couple spent the rest of the day celebrating their engagement by exploring St. Helena and dining out at a nice restaurant, but then it was time to get down to wedding business. The couple had their wedding at Kunde Winery in Kenwood, California, which was the first wine club they joined when they moved out west. The rustic chic themed wedding was decked out in shades of grays, blues and pinks, ranging from the wedding party dresses and suits to the pink dahlias popping out in the bouquets and flower arrangements. Due to the rain, the cocktail hour and reception had to be moved to another location on the property called The Ruins, which was once a separate winery that functioned in the 1800s. Dinner was served family style, with an array of meats, potatoes and vegetables paired with a wide variety of wines and local brew that the winery had to offer. The couple decided to go with a more non-traditional dessert option of cake pops in blue and gray with glitter on top. As an added treat, homemade marshmallows were served to make the ideal S’mores as the wedding night went on.
