A Rustic Summer Wedding at Brookside Gardens in Berthoud, Colorado

Since Jessi Gipson (24 and a real estate agent) and Jacob Gipson (24 and a landscape manager) aren't ones for DIY projects, a natural venue that required little in the way of decoration was high on this couple's wedding must-have list. Brookside Gardens in Berthoud, Colorado, promised just that: an indoor-outdoor venue boasting three acres of lush landscape, mountain views, water features and beautiful arbors. The couple kept the decor simple and selected colors and accents that highlighted the striking setting, letting the natural beauty of Brookside Gardens take center stage. Jessi knew from the start that a palette rich in shades of purple and yellow (her favorite hues) was a must; the eye-catching colors made an appearance in everything from the bouquets and programs to the bridesmaid dresses. The flowers were among the day’s standout details. Earle’s Loveland Floral nailed it with their playful arrangements of sunflowers, roses, baby’s breath and wildflowers displayed in metal watering cans and milk jugs, which added a subtle rustic note to the decor. The couple emphasized their garden ceremony, working with their officiant to create a ceremony that was truly reflective of their relationship, as well as their beliefs and values. “Our officiant did a great job of making the ceremony not about us, but how God worked in our relationship,” Jessi says. “We also had a circular ceremony, so instead of us standing in front, we stood with our guests surrounding us. That was really special, since we were surrounded by our best friends and family.” After exchanging vows, the couple and their guests headed indoors for a night of celebrating. Origins Catering ensured guests had their fill of delicious summer-inspired dishes, while the couple’s DJ had guests glued to the dance floor until it was time for Jessi and Jacob’s Harley-Davidson exit.
