A Rustic Southern Wedding in Magnolia Springs, Alabama
Rachel Spencer (27 and a professional hair stylist) and Jeffrey Jablonski (27 and a professional landscaper) met in Driver's Education class in high school in Magnolia Springs, Alabama. They grew apart (though remained close friends) while in college, but rekindled their high school romance years later. Rachel and Jeffrey chose to host their wedding at their church, St. Paul's Episcopal Chapel in Magnolia Springs, Alabama. Their wedding and ceremony style was inspired by a country garden—it was simple and rustic, with touches of cotton, lace and burlap woven into the decor. Their wedding also had a DIY vibe, with lots of painted mason jars and chalkboard decor. Rachel wore a lace wedding dress with a champagne-colored underlay and a sweetheart neckline. She accessorized her simple, classic dress with a mauve belt, which matched the colors of the wedding party. Jeffrey wore a casual tan linen tux with a mauve tie and a baby's-breath boutonniere to complement the bride's simple wedding dress. Their reception was held at the church hall and courtyard. "We had the most amazing DJ that kept us on the dance floor all night," Rachel says. Their family and friends catered the event as a wedding present. "It was so professionally done we had people asking about our caterers!" Rachel says. "We had beer and wine and of course, sweet tea!"Rachel and Jeffrey had a true country sendoff on a John Deere tractor, while their guests waved wooden "wedding wands" with lace streamers in the air. "That was a fun experience for us!" Rachel says.
