A Rustic, Southern Wedding at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst, North Carolina

Sarah Kilmer (26 and a registered nurse) and Jason Kilmer (29 and in active duty with the US Air Force) had their rustic-style wedding at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst, North Carolina, where they used navy and coral colors to create a chic barn setting. Caroline Lima Photography captured the entire wedding from the outdoor ceremony to the indoor reception under romantic string lights. "We wanted a rustic, Southern, laid-back, fun wedding," Sarah says. Keeping with this vision, Sarah wore a David's Bridal strapless wedding dress with a bow sash and brown cowboy boots while her bridesmaids wore knee-length, coral dresses with similar cowboy boots. Jason and his groomsmen wore navy sport coats with khaki pants, also keeping with the laid-back style. The wedding-day florist, Maggie's Farm, created vibrant arrangements using coral roses and tulips along with more rustic style, white arrangements with baby's breath and asters. Reception tables were dressed in navy tablecloths with these coral and white florals in mason jars and surrounding candlelight. It was important to Sarah and Jason that their guests had a relaxing, enjoyable time at their wedding, so they served a traditional Southern barbecue. White Rabbit Catering prepared the menu for the wedding, serving delicious pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. "We wanted it as laid-back as we could get," Sarah says. Sarah and Jason admit that keeping their wedding fun was what best reflected them as a couple. "We had an open bar all night," Sarah says. "We wanted everyone to have as much fun as possible."
