A Rustic, Sophisticated Summer Wedding at Grasmere Farm in Rhinebeck, New York
More than 100 guests traveled to New York’s Hudson Valley to witness Tina (39 and a graphic designer) and Brett Gaudin (34 and works in marketing) wed in a rustic, elegant celebration filled with personalized touches.
“We wanted to create a small-town environment where our guests could interact in a more intimate setting, rather than trying to traverse the city,” Tina says of their decision to head north for their nuptials. “Our friends appreciated getting out of the city.” After tying the knot in a traditional Christian ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests sipped sparkling rosé and mint juleps in the farm’s courtyard during cocktail hour.
“We had enough friends between us to field a proper soccer team,” Tina says of her six bridesmaids and Brett’s 10 groomsmen. To play up the rustic, gray and wood hues present in both the stone church and barn, the bridesmaids wore floor-length gowns in slate and charcoal shades.
Delicate table linens juxtaposed the raw interior of the stone barn, setting the tone for a casual feast. Before sending guests home with football-themed sugar cookies, Tina and Brett cut into a tiered cake filled with peanut butter frosting. “My maid of honor hand-painted the toppers to look just like us,” Tina says.
