A Rustic, Simple Neutral-Colored Wedding at Pinecrest Events Center in Palmer Lake, Colorado

Kirsten Bennett (24 and a TV news producer) and Garrett Boyd (23 and a TV news producer) met at work. Three months later, Garrett proposed at a photo studio. The couple chose Pinecrest Events Center in Palmer Lake, Colorado, for their wedding. They loved the wooden onsite chapel for the ceremony and the vaulted-ceiling ballroom for the reception. Plus, guests could stay at the lodge, which sealed the deal for Kirsten and Garrett because they knew everyone was safe after the wedding. Wanting their wedding to be simple and rustic, they used a neutral color palette of blush, white, tan and soft blue. They had a traditional Christian ceremony and wrote their own vows to each other. Knowing they had to prioritize their budget, the couple decided to keep their floral arrangements simple and ordered all of the stems from Amazon. The reception was simple with white and soft blue linens and small centerpieces. Kirsten and Garrett wanted the focus of their wedding to be on the celebration. “We both love to dance and wanted to make that a priority during the reception,” Kirsten says. Instead of a traditional slow dance for their first dance, the couple two-stepped to “I Want Crazy” by Hunter Hayes. At the end of the night, they enjoyed a three-tier white and blush fondant cake from Little London Cake Shoppe, which was even topped with a bow!
